Short post today
This week we did not have presentations, good news and bad news I suppose, because then we have to work on them during our free weekend. After class Monday, I went with my partner, Madeline again lol, to take our photos. We picked the Pasarela Arganzuela, Footbridge, for our project. I will post some of the photos we took, but will explain the project more in next weeks blog. This week was pretty low key, until Wednesday night, when we had a Cata de Vino. We tried 5 different wines. I liked two of them so much. I did not like the red wines we tasted as much as the white wines, but I have liked other red wines in Spain so who knows. We tried two white, two red, and a dessert wine. The girl sitting by me, Sophia, well her chair knocked over a bottle and it broke and spilled and it was crazy, but they said that usually happens every time there’s a tasting, lol. The first wine had an apple taste, the second a banana, the third cherry, the fourth was mushroom, but I think I overheard the wrong conversation when I heard that comment, and the fifth was fig/raisin/date. I learned we swirl them to be able to smell the wine better, and to determine how much body the wine has when you look at the side of the glass after you spin it. I also learned that most of the reds are made with the tanino, which we can kind of taste, but the whites are just squeezed for the juice. Ebo, Braden, and Parker, some friends from All Saints and LHS, were in Madrid Thursday. I went to meet up with them, at a really nice Airbnb I might at, and we hung out Thursday night just catching up on their rooftop terrace. It was really fun. They are traveling all around the world to celebrate graduating college, and it doesn’t sound too bad 😉 Today is the first day of our free weekend, so I am about to leave for Granada!
Here are some pictures from the week:
