Baguio, Philippines

Another travel day! Let me tell you, we made quite a few stops, but it all worked out in the end. The sun sets rather early here, so when we arrived in Baguio, it was already dark and it was barely 6 o-clock. We are high up in the mountains now, and the air is much cooler and it is truly rejuvenating. We settled into our rooms in the hotel, and then went to a yummy place for dinner. The parents ordered right when they got a sample tasing for their table. Food never stopped coming to their table. We ordered pastas and burgers at our table. I ordered a pasta that was filled with cheese and described as an “explosion,” which it was indeed. Then we went back to the hotel and went to bed.

This morning we woke up and went to Mines View Park. We had a view of all the mountains and it was beautiful. T’s grandparents have come here every time they’ve been in the city to recreate a picture of them from their twenties. Next we went to the underground market shops and we walked around there and everyone did souvenir shopping. Then we went to Mc Do for lunch and got the family share boxes and they came with rice cakes that are wrapped like burgers and fried chicken as well as mcnuggets. The fries were HUGE and looked like two of our large’s combined. We then went to the Philippine Military Academy and took pictures with all the tanks. Then we went back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner. It is T’s cousin Derrick’s birthday today, so we went to dinner at a very nice place to celebrate. We met up with more of Ts family, her mom’s cousin and their kids, and it was a lovely time. I had Salmon and steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. We also all got margaritas, and they were in miniature martini glasses haha.

Now we are back at the hotel and we head back to Anda tomorrow. I will miss the cool air and breeze here.
