Our time in Anda

This morning we woke up, went to the water, but it was High tide and a fishing shore so we have to go to the other side to get in the water, or wait for low tide to walk along the coast. We are a big breakfast of spam, pancakes, guibano (sp), mango, and papaya! The we walked around their home and looked at all the plants and fruits. They grew all the fruits from breakfast, as well as guava and bananas.

We went to the market, it’s only open Monday’s and Friday’s, and it was crowded, hot, and smelly. But it was cool at the same time. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but everywhere I go that isn’t a tourist spot, people love my blonde hair and look at me like a celebrity and love when I wave and smile at them so it’s quite fun!

We then went to the first beach, the Tandai beach. It was nice, very warm and shallow waters with not much sea life and kind of small. It was just a preview and we only went for a few hours.

We got home and watched Ts uncles make the dessert which was sweet rice and coconut cakes (I’ll post a video). We had a snack and then T, Mer, myself, and Ts little sister and cousin hung out and talked and painted our nails for a while. Then we ate a great dinner for the fiesta of family that came over and we had pansit, lumpia, rice and some sort of stew. Then we just went outside, had some san mig lights, and sang karaoke. A typical end of the night activity.

Today we woke up later, 7:15 ish haha, and then we had breakfast of rice with scrambled eggs and spam, and avocados and toast and mango and pineapple. The avocados here are different but it’s not bad. We then went to a watering hole with a small waterfall and fresh water. It was cool and refreshing water compared to yesterday’s warm water. Then we went to lunch and we were on a big floating hut and they brought us seafood that was fresh. It rained so we didn’t ever make it to the beach but it’s stopped raining for both of our activities which was nice. We had Pork adobo for dinner and went to bed early bc we have church tomorrow.

Today we woke up, and went to church at 6:45. They are catholic so it was kind of different and it was 70% Tagaloc and 30% English. Then we went home and got ready for the beach. We went to Patar beach all day and it was really relaxing and fun. We tried Filipino beers and went to hermit crab island too later that night, and we had to drive interesting paddle boats to get there.

We woke up, and drove to the boats to go to the hundred islands. We went to different islands on motor boats. T got stung by a jelly fish tentacle that was detached from the jellyfish on the shore. Then we went to the prettiest beach, Marco’s Island, and we jumped in a cave. Then we ate lunch there, which consisted of chicken and pork grilled to perfection on kebabs. After lunch we relaxed in the best sand and water before we went to another island where we zip lined and parasailed. Lastly, we went to see the 56 ft tall Jesus and it was a hike, also known as a pilgrimage, and it was indeed that haha. It was such a fun day! We came home and showered and had good spaghetti! They put cheese on their spaghetti, but not parmesan.
